Cardinal Update: Elementary Recess Weather Guidelines

STEWARTSVILLE ELEMENTARY

Outdoor Recess Policy

Temperature	Location
32 and above	Outdoors
31 – 26 degrees	Outside at Teacher’s discretion*
25 and below	Inside Recess

Recess will also be moved indoors for the following reasons:

1. Falling Precipitation

2. Muddy or Wet conditions

3. Excessive Wind

*this may include a shortened time outdoors or splitting children into an indoor or outdoor group.
